About the company:
Beijing based TV, targeting the English speaking population abroad. It is the first and only private television in China broadcasting news in English. The television does not broadcast political news. The main focus of the televison is culture, travel, food, art, sport and entertainment. Their programs are available in: USA, UK, Canada, Ireland, Mexico and in more than 50 countries and regions. After completion of the internship a full time position might be offered.
Job Description:
- Writing reports, stories, newswires, scripting, features and articles to daily/frequent deadlines according to set tasks
- Working with production team to collectively complete projects on a routine basis
- Recording voiceovers whenever required
- Sourcing and on-location interviewing of subjects relevant to stories/articles
- Selecting and inserting suitable audio/visual materials to complement text stories
- Editing and re-writing text stories to suit differing audiences within the international television broadcast media environment, and/or for print media publishers (online and offline)
- Support for other programs and products under the channel brand including editorial tasks related to review and publishing of content Copy-editing
- Working cross-departmentally via regular editorial meetings to ensure quality standards are maintained and material output is consistent with company goals
- Administration and other tasks as required as part of the journalistic team
Requirements:
- Native English speaker
- Have outstanding time management and organizational skills
- Be an excellent writer, copy editor and proof reader
- Be immediately credible with the internal team and also clients/publishers
- Have a relevant degree or other academic equivalent
This is a varied role, and an exciting opportunity to join a company that is going from strength to strength. The role is full-time, based at company’s offices in Beijing, China. Some travel may be required to fulfill the needs of completing stories.
